The complaint is against an online dating profile

This dating agency promises a lot of false claims that they are very ethical and dependable as well as economical and trustworthy.
For the thousands of dollars they charged, the following turned out to be true:
Falsely stated the number of members on their site as I was mimatched continously for over several months. Misrepresented the number of members available to clients - the contract was signed amid all kinds of deceptive claims that there were "hundreds" of potential matches just waiting to go out with me. I was consoled that by holiday season I would have lots of fun and happiness. Not a single promise was ever fulfulfilled.
Falsely promised consumers dates with me as a client and never found any date except for phone conversations - I have serious doubts whether this agency has legitimate matches. They are a group of people who have shown up on several website aliases within a 100 mile radius of DC and they seem to try scamming a few and overcompensating others to use as human shields against any lawsuits.

Here is another report from a victim who got scammed by Checkmate4u.com aka dcsinglesnow.com, bethesdasinglesnow.com, restonsinglesnow.com, mdsinglesnow.com and 15 other names within a 30 mile radius!!!

Ladies and Gentleman, what this CL ad is hawking is a matching service.
What they give you, however, is neglect.
How do I know?
I'm currently signed up with them.
They go by dcsinglesnow.com or Checkmate.com and either way, they SUCK, and SUCK HARD.
They're so disorganized, they can't even pick a name for themselves.
Yes, I was taken by their kind customer service... in the beginning.
I wanted to try something different to find the love of my life. I was willing and open to new ideas...
But, I've been with them for a year now, and how many matches have I had?

Here's how it works.
When they give you a match, if you like it, you can say; "ok, I want to try this person" and they contact the other person.
Now, the other person has the choice to write you back.
So what do you think the odds are of me getting through that process successfully with 6 matches... in the course of a YEAR?
If you guessed "Not that fucking good" you win the billiard set with matching luggage.

That's not how many people I've turned down or been turned down by to meet or talk to.
THAT'S HOW MANY WERE PRESENTED TO ME.
I was happy in the beginning. I had 3 matches the first two months...then came the neglect.
On top of that;
I've been with them for a year, but I REGULARLY go 3 months before hearing from them.
The only time I DO hear from them is when I threaten to come down to their Maryland office, while I live in NOVA.
Unfortunately, they only have some sort of shitty mock office which they use for meetings, so they're never there unless you make an appointment, and you can't make appointments anyways because they don't take your calls.
I don't even ask that much. I'd be more then happy to wait if they'd just answer my calls, respond to my emails or just fucking check in and let me know they're DOING something. The last of the 6 matches I got only came after I demanded a refund.
...Now ....granted, matching is not a speedy process. I knew I would have to be patient when I signed up.
It takes time and effort to research and seek out an individual who might work well with another individual...
But when this company out and out does not answer phones and do not reply to my emails, I lose that patience.
The one match I finally got to speak with also said she had trouble contacting them as well.
In fact, they didn't even give her a picture of me, which I gave them 3 times on 3 separate occasions.
One occasion being when I first came into their office, and they took a damn picture of me with their own camera.
-And they STILL lost my information. THEY DON'T CARE, so long as I was SHELLING OUT $100 A MONTH.
I've had it with them, and because they choose to ignore me, I'm going to let the rest of DC/MD/NOVA know how terrible they treat their customers.
And I'm not talking match.com pricing here, they take you for upwards of $700-$1000 at the LEAST.
This is not cheap at all.
I'm telling you people;
Use OKCupid, use Plenty of Fish, use CRAIGSLIST, just don't rely on these guys who will never write you, or pay attention to you after they take your money.
I'm tired of having to threaten them to get matches and responses.
They don't even get the ones they send me right.
I even gave them options to expand my search criteria, in fact, I just told them;
"I want a blond, that's it. There, is that easy enough for you?
Just give me a damn match, or let me know I still exist to you!"
They STILL couldn't deliver.
They don't even write to say "hi" or give me dating advice or ask if I ever need to update my profile.
ALL I GET IS A SHITTY AUTOMATED FORM LETTER ON MY B-DAY.
THANKS A LOT.
Ignore this terrible dating service.
It's not like "Millionaire Matchmaker" or those other glamorous shows you see on TV.
It's piss-poor customer service from an unorganized group of people who don't give a fuck.
Look, I'm reasonable. I don't expect miracles overnight.
But I DO expect a company I'm paying out my ass to COMMUNICATE with me.
But you won't get the from this checkmate service.
If you don't believe I'm telling the truth, please, by all means, write me.
I'll gladly give you my member number and the numbers of at least 8 people who work at this dating service, and you won't find these numbers on their website.
Why do I have so many?
Because they're unorganized and my account has been mishandled my multiple people instead of one person helping me.
Yes, instead of ONE person getting to know my needs and meeting with a board to match me, I have had emails from 8, who rotate or something, and I don't know who's giving me what.
Fuck you, dating service, you've ignored me for the last time.

- THE Alexandria VA District Court Awarded the plaitiff the ENTIRE settlement and found Checkmate4u liable for all the charges. The judge awarded the plaintiff FULL contract refund instead of the requested 50% refund. The case was heard and closed on December 15th 2011.

- The gentleman who continues to post the ONLY negative reviews with multiple logins and user names is Rob Sharma. Mr. Sharma continues to attempt mislead, lie and write defamatory remarks regarding the services of CheckMate4u, Inc. He has also done the same scam after joining the services of Together/E-love and It's Just Lunch. The business was not found guilty as Mr. Sharma continues to mislead - the Judge did award him his money back because his attorney mislead the judge and said that proper discovery was not answered in the designated time period and the fact of the matter is that there was actually not even a trial. CheckMate4u, Inc. does like to respond to things of this nature- however the company will in this case given Mr. Sharma's continued misrepresentation and defamation. CheckMate4u, Inc. has contacted there legal department and will be addressing Mr. Sharma . CheckMate4u, Inc. is very proud of the services and will continue to lead the area as a premiere and top rated Dating Agency in the DC area.

- I dont know who rob sharma is but all I know is that your company has a WARRANT IN DEBT issues by court of Virginia and you were found GUILTY of all the charges -- anyone is welcome to query the court records for district of Alexandria in Virginia - this poast by CM4U is another attempt to defame and falsify their claims of being a reputable company of any kind.

- So the judge did not even think a trial was neccessary and just gave the guy ALL his money back? It would have been adjourned normally. I am searching for this person you mentined... There are not many Rob Sharma on the web I checked so I'll follow up once I track this guy down and we'll get the real whole story out... stay tuned...

Apparently, the judge did not even consider wasting the court’s time with CM4U’sd corrupt bullying and nefarious tactics – they presented a FAKE attorney for a rabid bully not even licensed to practice in the initial appearance. The respondent Ms. Elizabeth Cooper who appeared on behalf of CM4U continued threatening counter action and what not’s which the judge dismissed realizing the crooks he had on his hand.
CM4U did not appeal the decision or address the allegations even though they had many days to do so and now acts cowardly by posting defamatory libel against the plaintiff.
The WARRANT IN DEBT against CM4U is still outstanding as of 02-27-2012 while they try to continue terrorizing and attacking Mr. Sharma’s credibility – it is CM4U who is engaging in outward libel, defamation and slander despite their owing a court ruling in favor of Rob Sharma.
The post on craigslist was NOT made by Mr. Rob Sharma as alleged – it is some other very disgruntled client who was also terrorized and forced to retract the posting as soon as it came out. Craigslist is being contacted for more info on this post and their tracking as well as reporting is much better now that they are aware of these rip-offs and sex-trade scams on their sites.

- 2000 is a real high charge and liz cooper as well as Margaret Lyle Andrews, mentuioned in another compaint against them, are a pair of low lifes to charge you this amount while others are paying $179!!! And they champion themselves as women's rights advocates on their website!! what a pair! wow, please post any documents from these goons so others dont fall into their traps. Someone here called them predators and they clearly are such.
