The same story that so many of you have reported but I want to keep the complaint active so that Scam Book continues to show interest. My company received a letter from FairGuide and a form titled "Exhibitors Directory for Fairs and Exhibitions". The form clearly stated the NSSEA (National School Equipment Show) in Tampa that we were participating in. I attempted to go on-line and correct the erroneous information but was unable to update so I sent them an email. They responded stating that the corrections I wanted to make would have to be done on the form to update their "FREE" guide and mailed to an address in Naperville, IL. I corrected the form, signed and sent to the PO Box in Illinois and 2 weeks later we received an invoice for $1717.00 from Slovakia. I immediately sent an email to the company stating that we were not about to pay this sum to any offshore entity for advertising that is required here in the United States and that their form and name and address was very misleading. I've since received a number of letters and invoices in the mail stating that we now owe "Dunning Charges" and "Delay Interest". The letters are simply initialed by someone in "Customer Service" and no legible name appears. They refuse to respond via Email. I have since filed complaints with the US Federal Trade Commission and the BBB and have also sent them emails with links to the numerous websites labeling them as a SCAM. I do not plan to send a nickle to this company but feel that the longer I show interest and keep "them on the line" then the less effort they can show to another company.
