We listed a piano for sale on Craigs list. Dave Chase wanted to purchase said piano. Dave sent us a check from his "business" account. He asked us to please send money from that check to the piano movers; which we blindly did. No movers showed up, can't get ahold of Dave, I've contacted the Sheriff and the Police department in two states. To no avail. The check bounced, and we are out just a few cents under Two Thousand Dollars with the original check amount and the banks fees that we were charged. My checking account is in the red for the first time ever.

- Hi, my name is Ashley and I have also been ripped off by this guy. I had a piano on craigslist and he basically did all of the exact same things as he did to you. My financial loss was around $1,900. It happened back in mid-December of last year. I had never been scammed before and never heard of scams like this so I was pretty niave. I filed police reports and everything but apparently there's nothing anyone can do because everything he sent was untraceable to him. Dave Chase likely isn't even his real name and he could be a female for all we know. The check he sent was stolen from a company account. I managed to find and contact the company who told me they are aware that someone had hacked into their business accounts and stolen company bank checks. Also, the return address on the FedEx package belongs to a woman that I also contacted who told me that her FedEx account had been hacked into and that someone was racking up shipping charges under her name but the police can't do anything. As for as his accomplice, Amber Lee Marsillo, as far as I know she could be anyone. This guy is just a wicked person whose only goal in life is to steal people's money. I'm pretty determined to get this guy caught and he will I'm sure, it's just a matter of time.
