I previously reported this scam. A company called GlobalConnectCloud installed some security software on my computer. I paid for the software via Western Union ($510), and it seemed to work well. A few days later I noticed on my bank account that an additional amount($510) was taken from my credit card. I notified the bank but they did nothing. Then a further amount ($315) was then taken. I destroyed the credit card and the ban issued me a new on.
Since then I get daily calls from either "Western Union refund dept" asking me to fill in a claim form online with Western Union, to refund the money. The form looks like a valid form except that it is a fund withdrawal form, not a refund form. I routinely hang up on them now, but they continue to call every day. On other days I get a call from the "Microsoft Technical Support dept", also offering to refund the money. They claim to be from GlobalConnectCloud. They get the same abrupt treatment!!
GlobalConnectCloud actually have warning notices on their web site about the scam, describing exactly what is happening to me.
i would like to know if there is any way of tracking them down and stopping the calls. I have asked for names of callers, who are obviously Indian but the names they give are English names, eg, Mark Williams, and when I ask for phone numbers and subsequently try calling them, the numbers are not connected.
