I sold a video game system console to this buyer. After a month or so, the buyer filed a PayPal chargeback dispute case. I lost both the item I sold and money I earned from the buyer. I lost the PayPal chargeback dispute case due to the decision that the buyer's credit card company has made. After providing as much as evidence as I possibly can to prove that I have the right to collect the funds from the buyer, I still lost. I won the case; but I lost the chargeback amount that the buyer's credit card company has caused upon me with an additional $20.00 chargeback settlement fee. I was supposed to earn $542.47 from this buyer; but I still lost after I provided the receipts I paid at the post office for the shipment, the tracking number, the buyer's feedback is 0% at http://us.ebid.net/, the buyer's shipping address and some other personal information. For all I know, I think I lost the chargeback amount because I didn't provide pictures of the video game system console I sold. I did provide them in the website listing; but I didn't e-mail the pictures to PayPal. I don't think that I need them since I don't know what the buyer was claiming for filing a chargeback dispute. The buyer probably provided pictures of the item to be broken or something; and e-mailed those to their credit card company. Or maybe PayPal didn't do a good job in defending me as the seller. Or maybe the credit card company only chose the buyer in their favor because the buyer is a customer of theirs; and I'm not. I'm not sure. All I know is that I lost this battle to a chargeback that I have no control over. Just to provide proof that wasn't enough for the credit card company at all. If I'm still going to lose, I don't even know what's the point in providing the proof if PayPal isn't going to stand up for the seller because of their rules, agreements and policies. I think that credit card companies are scam artists. They only favor their customers; and they're in it for the money. That's all they want. I hope that this will help not only me; but other seller's that deal with this type of situation. I hope that it gets better for sellers who deal with chargebacks; collect their funds of what's rightfully theirs and increase their chances in being favored over the buyer towards credit card companies. This is what I wanted to say. Thank you.

  • Hi Mike, sorry to hear you got scammed by this scumbag. We too had a large attempted fruad by her on our website. We spotted it before we shipped so didn't get caught out. With the help of scambook, which I must say is a great service, we were able to confirm our suspicions. Just to note for anyone else who is unfortunated to come across this pile of human excrement, the details she used on our website were as follows... Jade Phelan, [email protected], phone 0862739732 , 5 hazelcroft gardens, finglas south, dublin 11, Ireland. It was a stolen credit card she used on us and not paypal. The sooner the better the cops pick this knacker up the better!
