I received a W2 today for 'earnings' of $7.36. From what I've read, so did a lot of people. Here's the thing... I never got a check from these people. Maybe my name was on a settlement list, but they sure didn't send out a check! And to charge 11 cents tax on it? You have to be kidding me! How do you get an erroneous W2 cancelled? Funny how they had my address right for the W2 but couldn't get a check to the same place. What do we all do with this thing? I've already filed my taxes... I had already received any legitimate W2's! Not sure what to do with this now.

- My father recieved this same W-2. I have talked to Wal-Mart, my local tax office and the IRS this morning. IRS position is to NOT file this W-2 with your taxes unless you received a check. Do your taxes normally, and also file a 3949A form by mail to the IRS to lodge a formal complaint with them. If by some chance this is true and earnings were reported to the IRS, you can amend your taxes to show this. However, they also suggested contacting Brown to request correct information.I read some more of the legal documents and to recieve this money, you had to have filed a claim by Dec 15,2009.
