I am writing this email in regards to my Asessippi experience on Thursday December 27 2012. I called the ski patrol manager George on January 3 2013 and I believe that my genuine complaint was not taken seriously and was disregarded. George states and I quote "I believe nothing will resolve of this past this point". This has me believe I did not contact the correct person regarding the distasteful experience.

On December 27 2012 before the Porcupine chair lift was closing for the day. I was coming off Sunshine onto Cabin Junction run and down to the Porcupine chair lift. When I arrived to the bottom, a female ski patrol approached me on a snowboard, pointed at me with a ski pole aggressively, and rudely raised her voice at me and stated "WALK"! She had jolted forward stating this in front of three other ski paroles minus two who just jumped on the chair lift as this was progressing.

I was perplexed and embarrassed and I asked "why"? As she continued to keep her voice raised she rudely replied "YOU WERE TOLD LAST RUN, SO WALK"! First I was not told last run.
Second the line was not drawn across Cabin Junction and home run which indicates that Porcupine chair lift is still open.

I have been coming to Asessippi regularly since 2000 and fully aware of the routine. I keep my ear open for when the lift tenants call last run/last lift. I was not told that. The three other ski patrol behind this female stood beside her like a group of bullies and seemed to be on her side.

Due to being already embarrassed and upset about this, the end result was that I walked back to the chalet when she could have easily let me on behind the two other ski patrols who all ready jumped on the chair lift as she was being rude. After paying $48.00 + tax for a full day pass, buying food, and a new pair of expensive goggles from Switchboard I was really upset being yelled to that way and walking back to the chalet. After sitting inside the chalet for an hour debating if I should ever come back to Asessippi again, I left.

A week later still upset about it and telling my friends my experience at Asessippi I felt like I needed to tell someone at Asessippi about this one particular female ski patrol. On Jan 3 2013 I spoke to George and explained everything. I advised him that I have been coming to Asessippi as a regular since 2000 and that I've brought an X amount of friends to this place over the years. I told George that I am not returning due to the December 27 incident. Another reason now is instead of dealing with the matter George chose to give me a sales pitch instead. One thing is that I don't think George knows how serious it is when a regular paying customer of twelve years tells you that they are not returning due to an incident from an employee.
Second when I explained to George what happened he said and I quote "She's been know to be like that she's done that before" and previously mentioned quote "I believe nothing will resolve of this past this point" George said all that as if it was like no big deal.

This tells me two things:

1. That this type of behavior from staff towards paying customers is condoned by Asessippi.
2. Asessippi values rude employees over paying customers by dismissing a customer’s concern/complaint.

I work HR and Admin for a market research firm in Winnipeg for ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia) we say "without paying customers, there would be no ICBC". If we ever hear our employees speak to paying customers in that fashion that they would be fired on the spot, and it has happened. I believe any business that is serious about making money would not condone this kind of behavior amongst their staff. I believe this particular female patrol should not be working for Asessippi and needs work on her attitude towards paying customers before she is fit to work for Asessippi or for any place for that matter.

I was a skier turned avid snowboarder and regularly get asked by others where a good place to go snowboarding is and for years I have always directed them to Asessippi. From this day forward, if no results transpire from this formal written complaint, I'll direct people elsewhere and share my experience with them about what happened at Asessippi. I have all ready begun telling my friends, co-workers, and at our staff meeting my experience at Asessippi on December 27 2012. I know if this happened to you at another ski/snowboard area that you would be genuinely upset and embarrassed too and would want action taken.

I anticipate a response via email or phone at (Personal Information Removed) during the day, or after 3:30 at (Personal Information Removed) to advise if proper action was taken. If I do not receive a reply, this will tell me my business is not welcome at Asessippi.
