My husband and I purchashed an air conditioner for our daughter on 7/23/2011 from this store located at 1740 N. Kostner in Chicago. We first were told it was brand new. Turned out to be refurbished. Well, you know the story. It conked out and would not work before the 30 days. My husband took it back, but did not have the receipt. He was told by one of THEIR sales clerks that he could return it, if he could locate the receipt. Well, three days later we returned to the store with the original receipt and are told by a different salesperson that the 30 days had expired and we couldn't get a refund, no store credit, not even a new air conditioner! What a scam! We asked to speak to a store manager and were told the same thing by a rather rude woman named Felicia. Who told us WE would have to send the air conditioner to a service center at our own expense! We then asked to speak to someone else and another woman named Lucy comes over. We explained to her what happened and she told us the salesperson who told us to return with the original receipt should have called a manager over that day. That's the policy. It's not our fault THEIR salesperson didn't follow THEIR policy. Whatever happened to the CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT OR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION! Needless to say, we left the air conditioner at the store and I asked for information to their corporate office. Lucy told us we could contact Corporate to no avail because they would tell us the same thing. My husband and I felt totally disrespected by the way we were treated and this was our first and last dealings with COOK BROTHERS! We left very UNSATISFIED!Thumbs down!
