I took my suit to this cleaners which I originally paid approximately $230.00. I had only worn it one time, and needed to wear it for a special occasion scheduled for Saturday, 2/9/2013. So I called the cleaners and asked if they could clean the suit without removing the rhinestones I explained specifically about the stones because I am knowledgable about cleaning fluids and solutions used in the cleaning establishments and buttons and stone on garments sometimes must be removed so they are not damaged during the cleaning process. So I called with specific questions before I sent it there. Mr. John McDonnell said he could clean my suit without removing the rhinestones. The suit is 52% silk and 48% wool. When my suit was returned to me It had been washed, shunken and poorly pressed/steamed or whatever he called it. Mr. John Mcdonnell did not deny that he washed the suit, the tag specifically says to DRY CLEAN which is the service I was seeking. It was not pressed He expained that he steamed the suit. It look horrabile. I took it back to the Mcdonnell Cleaners asked for the cleaning price to be returned to me which was $15 dollars. I negotiated if he would return to me the money I paid because he had ruined my $230.00 suit. He said NO he could not do anything for me. He acknowledged that he had ruined my suit. So I showed him the suit and and specifically pointed out all of the defienticies, asked if he wanted his business name ruined because of this poor service then I asked if he would consider returing at the least $7.50 dollars at least half of what he charged me for the cleaning He again said NO. This is a heartless act to committ when you know you have done someone a disservice. He ruined my suit an I am seeking the full amount of the suit plus the cost of cleaning. It is unfair that his business can ruin a consumers goods and not be responsible for its actions. I am seeking justice because of the principle of this matter. I need someone to help me.
