GetRentToOwn.com & RentBeforeOwning.com are both owned by same company. I signed-up at GetRentToOwn.com on 1/30/13, cancelled the same day I signed up. Then on 2/9/13, when reviewing my acct, saw a charge for $49 from GetRentToOwn.com, emailed them regarding issue. Then on 2/14/13 I had another charge on my acct from RentBeforeOwning.com for $49.60. Called them @ 888.250.5563 spoke w/Howard, who stated could email me an app. requesting a refund or credit me $25, I asked to speak w/a Supervisor and was transferred to a Julie, who informed me I would be refunded the $49.60 in 1-4 business days cancellation#7004197094-4196150. I then called GetRentToOwn.com @ 888.596.4702 and spoke w/Sean, requested to speak a Supervisor, since I hadn't signed up w/them or authorized a charge. I was then transferred to a Supervisor, and low and behold, it was Julie!! I was initially confused and looked to make sure I had dialed the right number and not called the other company by mistake. I informed her of the problem and that I had just spoken with her and she stated, yes she remembers and she had already refunded me the $49.60 Thats when I stopped her and told her I didn't call RentBeforeOwning @ 888.250.5563, I dialed GetRentToOwn.com and about the unauthorized charge for $49. I asked if the companies were affiliated and she stated "No" and that she didn't know how, but somehow the lines had gotten crossed. After a brief discussion on the fact that they were affiliated and that I doubled checked the number, I hung up with her and told her I was going to report them. Once I hung up, I immediately received an email stating that the $49 would be refunded to me in 1-4 business days cancellation#24004152214-4151297. So to put this to the test, I called back RentBeforeOwning.com and spoke with an Anthony at 6:59pm, who proceeded to tell me that his supervisor had just left, but that he was going to refund me the $49.60 and when he started to give me the same confirmation number that I had received early in an email from Julie, I stopped him and informed of what had occurred and that I had already been given that cancellation number at 6:40pm via email, with the refund notification, so that it was not possible for him to have generated it then, unless he ws of course giving me an additional refund. He was speechless. So now I'm waiting to see if there will in fact be a refund. What are the chances of getting the same Supervisor named Julie at 2 different companies (that supposedly are not affiliated) and they happen to know that you had just called about a refund for $49.60?
