I Shipped a package from the UPS Store # 4992 on 211 Main Street New Rochelle NY 10801 on July 15 2011. It was an internet deal that i settle on COD. So I went to the UPS store and requested guaranteed funds with full insurance. The item was a watch valued at about $1500. The COD amount was for $1159. UPS changed me $122.30 for shipping to a Cory Green 7415 South Kimbark Ave Apt 2W Chicago IL 60619. Long story short UPS store packed it and said my COD amount was fully insured no matter what happened and I would defiantly get my item back or the money.
One week later they told me to come into the store to get the certified check they picked up from the location. The check was clearly a fake printed from someone's inkjet printer. I told the UPS store manager Thomas this was a joke but I verified the check with Chase bank anyway and they laughed at it.
Clearly the UPS driver was blind no one would think this check is real. Plus i didn't ship this directly thru UPS I shipped this through the store. They did not make me sign a disclaimer saying that I run the risk of not getting my funds they said this is a guaranteed transaction which was not the case.
After week of going back and forth they just said its too bad we can't help you. Not even offering to return the shipping cost. Pure scam...not only from the person passing the check but from the standpoint that the funds and not insured and not guaranteed like they say at the store.

Small claims court here I come.
