I was approached by a young African American male while heading to a Family Dollar Store in Houston, TX. He said he was trying to get votes and sell books and magazines in order to win a scholarship of $10,000 for Sam Houston State University. As a student myself I decided to help a stranger that was very nice, friendly, and someone that seemed very eager to pursue his college career. Afterwards, I decided to research the association with the school and company, but I did not have any luck. I surprisingly came across all of these scams, and am very disgusted and upset that this happened. Thank goodness I gave him the payment in cash. This is what generous people get for trying to help someone that seemed trustworthy? Anyone that comes across these so called "college students", who knows if they really are, do not purchase anything or even take the time to look at the list of books. I don't know how many complaints it will take to report this company so that it will be shut down for all these scams. I have read every page on this website, and I hope they get what they deserve for doing this to people that are willing to help knowing how bad the economy is.
