I received a call just before I had to leave for work. It was a woman speaking in broken english who informed me she works for the US Federal Grant Dept calling to tell me I had been selected for a grant in the amount of $7,000.00. I never applied for a grant and was instantly suspicious. She started telling me I could receive the funds as direct deposit or put on my card. I was no longer suspicious I was certain! I told her I was not giving any personal information so she gave me a phony Grant ID# and told me to call her manager at 206-855-3328 to get the money. She told me they are very busy and to keep trying if I could not reach them the first try. She wanted me to verify information but did not seem to know the city I live in in spite of having my zip code so I told her I live in Smithfield (I don't) and she did not know it was false info. Someone from the Government would know that. I never called the number and I never sent any money. Beware!
