My Wife saw an advert for Veloura Anti Wrinkle cream 'Free 14 day Trial' on Facebook. Entered debit card details to pay for P&P, name and address and sent it off.

The product arrived with a letter stating the conditions and we smelt a rat straight away.

The 14 day trial period started on the day the order was made and on the 14th day her debit card would be charged $99.95 CD for the Trial jar of cream. As we are in Spain it took 7 days to get here which only left 7 days to try it out. The only way to stop the debit on our bank account was to contact them by phone and obtain an RMA number and then return the product to a UK PO Box no. If not returned, they would automatically send you another jar 45 days after the original order date and then, for ever more, at 30 day intervals and continue to take money from your bank account at the rate of $94.90 CD for every jar sent.

A clear case of a Scam. Free Trial product was not free, the full details of what you were letting yourself in for were not obvious until you got the Trial product, the Trial period was completely misleading and a lengthy process was required, with postage at your own expense, to opt out of the deal.

Thankfully, our bank was happy to block any further payments to them with the promise that if a payment did slip through they would refund it and they would also notify the company that no request for any payment to them would be permitted. So hopefully we got out of it without having to pay any more than the postage for the trial jar. And thanks to our Bank we won't have to pay nearly $100 for the 'free' trial. We have yet to see if the product is of any real benefit, must say it was professionally packaged. One odd thing was, on the jar and the box it states who it was manufactured for and the company names don't match, neither does a re-order telephone number.

The add has disappeared from Facebook, they may have moved on to other sites or just done a hit and run. I feel sorry for anyone that has been ripped of by this unscrupulous business. I see some other peoples posts that show they were not as lucky as us. If you have fallen for it tell your bank or credit card company and get the payments stopped, they are conn merchants.

A professional business offering a free trial period doesn't charge for it when the time is up. If you like the product you go back for more and place an order you don't get tied to it from day one and have money taken from your credit or debit card without prior consent.

I only posted this in the hope it may help to avoid anyone else getting ripped off.
