Wow what a fiasco! Fortunately my credit card refunded the charges, and made that permanent after investigation.

In December i called at Midnight for problem with brand new I Phone. Googled Apple tech support and got MyTechHelp which pretended to be Apple. A fast talking salesman pretended to check before telling me that my software support had expired (I was confused, i have apple care) then convinced me i had a virus and that I could suffer identity theft and told me know I could not wait til morning. I asked how long it would take.(15 minutes) They were to charge me in three installments $99.99 each installment. I asked if it could be a one time charge of $300 (beware, I have since learned this installment method gives them permission to keep your credit card info) They said it MUST be in installments.. panicked I agreed .. then waited on hold for 50 minutes. The tech support person was great ... he logged onto my computer but all the while I was so exasperated and surprised by the way I had been treated.. He finally he got it that I had thought I was talking to someone at Apple, he gave me the business office number to call in the morning. I stopped the process, fortunately before he had loaded any programs onto my computer.

In the morning, I tried to get the business office to change the charge, did not want help (they said I had gotten help (no, they had not solved anything) so I had to pay $89.99 to cover that and have access for a year (I fought as hard as i could and capitulated. She was good at waring me down)

Then I found this website spambook and saw all these similar complaints so, now still the same day, I called and said I would never ever want to use their services and she backed down to a $59.99 charge... but said my credit card did not go through, could I give her another one!

well I hung up and called my credit card company and they said there was not problem with my card and the removal of the $99 charge would not show up for a week.

so I called MyTechHelp business office back and this time my card worked and she said she removed the $89.99 and added the $59.99.

I also changed all my passwords, changed my settings to needing to log with password and turned my computer completely off as often as possible (they had been on my computer by remote control)

A week or so later I called my credit card company and they said the $99 had been removed but not $89 and $59 -- I told them the story (which I had documented on paper every step of the way, I did not need that) and Credit card co. said they would remove the charges and keep the charges off pending investigation..

I just got a letter that said they are totally removed. In the meantime today I got another spam letter from MyTechHelp even though I submitted an unsubscribe message last week. They should be put out of business
