My wife & I were approached Nov 5, 20212 by Brownstone Enterprises Group to see if we wanted to sell our Mexican Mayan Palace timeshare. We signed a purchase contract on Nov 14, 2012 agreeing to pay only the timeshare transfer fee ($3750.00 USD) up front and 8% sellers fee after the deal was closed. It was also agreed that we would not have to pay any IVA taxes. On Nov 14, 2012 Development Funding Sources (Title & Closing Co.) contacted us with documents requesting the transfer fee payment and instructions for where to wire transfer the funds. On Nov 15, 2012 I wire transferred the funds to an account in Mexico. I was told at this time it would take 45 to 60 days for the deal to close. On Jan 30,2013 I attempted to contact Brownstone Enterprises Group with no luck. I then contacted Development Funding Sources who told me that my contract had been missed and told me that they would contact Brownstone Enterprises Group. One hour later Brownstone Enterprises Group contacted me and informed me that all the original sales personnel had left the company and that a mistake had been made with our purchase contract. I was informed that we would have to pay an IVA tax before the sale could go through. I then informed them that my contract stated no such requirement and the contract was signed. I also stated that since the contract could not be fulfilled that I wanted my already deposited transfer fee of $3750.00 USD to be returned as soon as possible which they agreed to. I have tried numerous times since and have had either had no answer or been put on hold and then hung up on. Brownstone Enterprises Group was supposed to be our realstate representatives.
