In February 2013, I completed a survey when the website popped up while I was on the airmiles.ca website. I was offered a choice of three gifts for completing the survey, with the only cost being a small shipping fee of $5.95. A month later I received a charge on my credit card for $148.82

I called the company, however the telephone number quoted on the website does not link to a real person or even an answering machine. I emailed customer support and was told that I didn't return the item within the 14 day trial period, they were sorry that I didn't understand the trial program, and, with much complaining, an offer to refund me $55 if I didn't dispute the charges with my bank.

Collagenta has covered themselves because the trial offer is clearly stated on their website, even though their advertising, such as the survey popup offer, is misleading. My bank was unable to reverse the charges because of the information found on their website, and of course, I did not have proof from the pop survey.

At least I have it noted with my bank that I emailed them to cancel any future charges, and if I am billed again then those charges can be disputed.
