I am a college student who booked on-line for discount lodging at Breckenridge. For obvious reasons, I needed to pay as little as possible for 2 nights lodging. I registered for 2 nights @ $156.00 per night. Under the registration, after giving all of my information, was "A 120 minute preview tour of the Grand Lodge on Peak 7 is required with this vacation option." I wasn't sure what this was about,so I selected "register". A a few days later I got confirmation through e-mail, again stating the above quote. When I checked out, I was told I would have to pay an additional $420.00 for lodging because I did not qualify as for this price because I did not make $70,000 or higher per year. The disclaimer came AFTER registering which is misleading and I believe, fraudulent. I tried negotiating with them, and they simply said, "We will just charge the debit card used to make the reservations. In others words, "we win-you lose!" I do not have the money in my account to cover this. I foresee all kinds of ramifications.

- We appreciate feedback of all types regarding our Website and our products, we would like to clarify a few items and resolve this complaint. Breckenridge Discount Lodging offers greatly reduced lodging in Breckenridge in exchange for taking a preview tour of the Grand Lodge on Peak 7, a luxury timeshare property at the base of Peak 7. To receive a discounted stay, and take a preview tour, you do need to meet certain income and home ownership requirements to qualify. This is clearly listed on www.breckenridgediscountlodging and we follow a strict process of contact to confirm that a person who books online is in fact qualified. First, we call and confirm the qualification requirements or leave a message with the information within 24 hours of an online reservation being made. Then we send multiple confirmation emails, each of which clearly states the qualification requirements and explains that if a person does not meet the qualifications they will be charged the retail rate of the accommodations they have reserved. The individual who has posted this complaint made a reservation using www.breckenridgediscountlodging.com and falsely used her parent’s information to qualify herself for her stay. We called her and left a message with all of the qualification requirements on 3/18/2013 and sent her multiple confirmations via both email and standard mail. She did show up to use her deeply discounted promotional stay and came to her preview tour where we discovered that she did use her parents qualifying information and was actually not qualified to tour on her own. We followed our clearly defined procedures and attempted to collect the balance for the retail rate of the room that was reserved. We do not believe that we in any way scammed this individual. We communicated our policies properly and in a timely manner and were misled by this guest. While we always appreciate constructive feedback we do believe that in this case we were unfortunately the ones that were misled.
