This washing machine was purchased on 2/26/12. We purchased the same model for our son also. In 3 months the boot around the door came off on both washers. After another 3 months they both needed replaced again. the same every 3 months happens. the last time it was shredded. The floor was soaked twice with water. The repair man came and completely tore the machine apart and put back together. Then the main brain would not work so a new one was ordered. Again the repair man installed the new brain and within 30 seconds the brain blew out again. We have complained to Whirlpool all along about how bad these washers were. Even one repair man said he is always having to repair this model. The repairman called Whirlpool after the new brain installed died, he was told to tell us that they would replace the brain but would not cover the repair costs. The machine is still under the manufacture warranty for only a few more days. I think they are not upholding their warranty and we have suffered multple water leaks, frustration, and not having the use of a washing machine. At one of the service calls the repairman saw a bug in the house. He told Whirlpool he saw a bug and was told that that voids all warranties. When has a bug ever caused a warranty to be voided. We also purchased an extra 4 year service plan so what good is that going to do? I think something was shorted out to the brain when the repairman tore it completly apart because it would not work at all after he worked on it. How do we get Whirpool own up to their responsibilities?
