We were selling an item on Craigslist and was contacted by "Richard" saying he wanted to purchase the item. He said he would be sending a cashier's check and needed the name to put on the check and the address to send it to. He was emailed the name and address. Then he emailed back that the check would be for more then the item and to cash the check take out the price of the item plus $100 for our inconvenience and then to forward the rest of the money to Chanel Davis the shipper that would be picking up the item. He was emailed back that we wold not be doing that and we would only handle the price of the item. He proceeded to send a check via ups for $2680 more then the price of our item. I took the check to the bank that it was written from and told them my story and they checked and the check came back as fraudulent. It has been reported to our local authorities.
