This is more a case of "let the buyer beware". Thrifty at these locations charges a fee for driving beyond the states immediately adjacent to Michigan but apparently only around Easter vacations.
Michigan appears to be the only location that does this. They don't bother with placing an asterisk next to their unlimited mileage claim & its only for a two week span so its easy to miss. Seems kind of like deceptive advertising at the least.
