Another online dating scam website designed to coerce members into paying to email other members. They tout special interests sites like music, sports, food etc yet they are all interconnected sites with no specialty areas at all. If enough people make a stink about these rip off sites they will eventually start going away. Thank you

I am from TangoWire and hopefully readers (and the author) will consider this response.
First, we are certainly not a scam. We have been in business for over 10 years and work hard every day to provide as safe an environment as possible for people looking for long term relationships who don't want to be bombarded with people looking for a short term hookup and nude photos.
We don't coerce anything. We have free memberships and many members are successful at finding their match without ever paying us a dime. Besides posting a full profile and searching through our member base, free members can REPLY to messages sent by premium members absolute free, all the time, every time.
Premium memberships are valuable, in that they let you be in control so that you can *initiate* email contact and drive the process, but they are not required and we certainly don't coerce anything -- I'm not eve sure how we would do that.
As to the "Special Interests" the author is speaking of -- we allow members to subscribe to any number of communities. This helps them more easily find people with similar interests (like dog lovers, BBW, Military, etc.).
I can't speak specifically to this anonymous report, but if the author does read this, simply write to us by clicking on the 'contact us' and we'd be happy to see where the confusion lies and see what we can do. - Shaun -
