I stopped by McDonalds on my way to the gate. I ordered a Filet-o-fish extra value meal with a large diet coke. I also inquired about a McChicken sandwich. The guy at the counter did not understand the McChicken sandwich. Finally we came to the understanding that this McDonalds did not have this on the menu. So I told him that I only wanted the fish meal with a large diet coke. He told me it would be $14. I knew this wasn't correct and told him so. Again I repeated my fish meal order, and that I only wanted 1 meal. A manager came over to see what was going on. I explained what I wanted and told her that the cost was wrong, and that I only wanted a fish meal with a large diet coke. It seemed that she punched a bunch of buttons on the terminal and paid. A bag was set down on the counter, and the lady handed my the bag and large drink. It was getting close to boarding time so I headed to the last gate in the terminal. When I got there, I sat down and opened the bag.There were NO fries, The sandwich was a cheese burger, the drink was a large but now I wasn't even sure it was a diet coke. I tried to eat the burger, but it had pickles and tomatoes. Couldn't eat the burger, no fries, and not sure that the drink was sugar free. So I had to throw the meal in the trash as we were boarding and I couldn't go back to complain. I was now worrying about getting sick as I hadn't eaten in a few hours, and could not get food until I landed. A few days later I noticed what I had paid for that meal ($14). I wrote McDonalds a couple of times telling them about the mess. Finally, I got a letter from the owner apologizing for the situation. Included was an Arch card (McDonalds gift card). I went online to check the value of the the card only to see it was for $5. I paid $14 for a meal I could not eat, and they send me a gift card for $5. That made me upset again. At first, I thought that $14 plus the $5 woulds have been nice, but now I think I really deserve more. Since that day, I have not been to McDonalds since.
