The Kenmore air conditioner wall unit that I purchased in July of 2010 has stopped working. It no longer blows cold air. I've been told that it needs freeon and that something else is malfunctioning and need repair.I have only used this unit for three months of each of the years that I've had it. Sears advised me that I no longer have warranty service and i must pay $109 for a man to come out an look at the unit. I understand that I have a limited warranty, 5 years, for the sealed refridigation parts. I had a technician come to the apartment who said the unit needed freeon and that he had to take it in for repair and that it would cost $365 to correct the problem. I do not feel that I should have to pay a $ 109 service charge plus parts and repair for a unit that I've only used for approx. eight months. This unit is obviously defective. I wnat a replacement unit.
