Thank God I wasn't scammed as bad as the rest due to me reading this website and remaining alert. Here is my story:
-I have a missing tooth (pulled out in the past) and another one that needs to be pulled out (both are first molars).
- I wanted to have the two gaps implanted with teeth
- I found this Grant's website- contacted them regarding how they can help financially and "applied online".
- I was immediately contacted by Paul Velasco and she referred me to go to a "free assessment" by Dr.Mark Kochran here in Toronto.
- I went in this morning. Had a COMPLETE assessment along with a total of 16 X-rays of every single tooth in my mouth.
- Sat with Dr.Kochran who IMMEDIATELY said: You need bone grafting in the space where your previous tooth was. You need surgery to remove the other molar, you need to graft bone in that one as well. You need to then have your teeth cleaned. Then we will image the two sites where the teeth would be implanted in order to see if you can have the procedure done.
- Went to the front desk: Was quoted 2500$ in dental work (tooth extraction, dental cleaning, bone grafting and imaging) that I would have to get done initially in order to be even considered eligible for the grant. This is other than the minimum 4500$ per tooth for actual implant. Oh - and when would you like to book your appointment? ASAP?
- I said- you guys are indeed scammers. And I am not comfortable proceeding with you.
- She said: ok well you need to pay your costs of 100$ for the X-rays.
- I said: I thought the assessment was free- apparently the X-rays are not part of the assessment.
Paid the 100$ and ran the F out of there. Also, tried calling the CDG to complain to them and was bullshitted even further.
- Listen, I am a 27 yr old Female. Two missing teeth, one on each side. I really need this as I can't even chew properly anymore. I know what financially broke feels like. I know what needing implants feel like.
- Take it from me- IT'S A SCAM. IT'S A MODERN DAY LEGAL SCAM. STAY AWAY FROM IT AND JUST GO TO YOUR REGULAR DENTIST AND WORK OUT A PAYMENT PLAN that both of you are comfortable with.
