Received a phone call this evening at home addressing my husband by name throwing in the words "microsoft" and receiving erros problems on our system...my husband immediately gave phone to our son and let him take over turns out that after this guy "Ryan" (with an Indian accent) talked to my 14 year old ended up telling him that "they" monitor computers through ISP address' and that we needed to purchase an upgrade on our software-thank god I just walked in the door took the call asked simple questions so I would understand what was going on (I do not just give out my credit card without asking questions)and getting very frustrated replys I got the company name as World PC Solutions and a number of 1-866-539-8803 (doesnt work) and a bunch of BS about the data protection act-DONT FALL FOR IT this is a SCAM!!! If you do get caught up in what they ask you to do on your computer you should make sure your antivirus is up to date and run a scan on your entire computer!
