Sooper Credit Union added auto insurance to my auto loan without knowledge or approval and changed my monthly amount due. I showed them proof of insurance but they refuse refund my money and they changed my payoff amount. I traded my vehicle in and the dealership paid off my vehicle but Sooper Credit Union charged the dealership more than the payoff amount and now the dealership is trying to collect from me. I also never received a copy of the original contract or the amended contract. It should be against the law to change a contract without prior knowledge or a signature from the customer and that includes changing the payoff amount. I am furious with Sooper Credit Union and would like to warn others never to use them.

Hello,
Sooper Credit Union is sorry to hear you are having vehicle insurance problems on your loan. A vehicle loan does require the borrower to maintain full coverage insurance at all times. If no proof of coverage is provided, three letters are mailed to the borrower and an automated phone system attempts to obtain the required information. If no information is obtained insurance has to be added to the loan. Copies of the policy are then mailed. A full refund would be granted if proper coverage was in place and the information is provided.
