HH Gregg offered a laptop for sale that impressed my teen son. He worked as a tutor and did odd jobs to save the money to have his own laptop to begin college with. When he saw the ad in the newspaper, he had me standing on the doorstep when the store opened that day.

As soon as we were in the store, a half dozen guys were hanging out by the appliances and refused to acknowledge that we were in the store. I asked for help and was referred to a man sitting in a comfy chair watching a big screen TV. When we said we were there to purchase this advertised special, they said they didn't have any in stock, not in our entire state, not in the entire Southeast U.S. They said, you have two choices, pay more for an upgraded computer, (smells like bait and switch to me), or pay for that one, and eventually, they would call us and let us know it was available. We were told that it had to be ordered from somewhere in Asia. The manager came over and just wanted us out of the store, he was rude, so we left. Outside the store I called the (800) number who told us, that we should accept a floor model from a different store. We were told, it had not been on display for more than a few days and would be in excellent condition.

We drove the 40 plus miles one way, and purchased the floor model. The computer lasted less than 60 days. We called the (800) number again, and received the "sucks to be you attitude, " and to contact the manufacturer.

We contacted the manufacturer who said, pay more money to mail it back to us, and we will evaluate if it was your fault or not, and if it isn't your fault we will fix it and send it back, usually about two weeks.

I contacted them on Facebook and they told me to e-mail them, and I did, and again they did nothing.

So, I now have about another hundred invested in this laptop because of it being defective, and HH Gregg giving me issues because we had it over 30 days. My son builds computers at home, he's never had a new one before, and when he tried to boot it, it said something about a bad hard drive, which is why we decided to invest the money to mail it back.

HH Gregg needs to be warned, your sales people in the Ocala store treat women like idiots, (I'm working on my dissertation right now.) And this was also how I was treated years ago by Circuit City, and we know which way they went! Women do most of the shopping, and make most of the buying choices in this country. HH Gregg needs to hire tech savvy women, and fire the chauvinist employees that ignore women.

And they need to know that in this economy, its all about customer service.
