On November 30, 2012 while my wife and I were on a cruise vacation, one of our port stops was St. Thomas V.I. While walking, we were approached by a sales rep. from Divine Destinations. We were told there would be no sales pitch, just a short presentation. In return we were to receive a free dinner. This turned out to be a lie and a scam. Ater this two hour session, while under a lot of stress and pressure from their sales force, we regrettably signed a contract for a 14 day Mediterranean Cruise for two for the unbelievable price of $1,995 plus miscellaneous fee totaling $2,493, which we charged to our credit card. We later found out it WAS to good to be true. It was false information. The actual price was more than double the price we were quoted. We were told we would receive a travel kit in the mail. We never received anything from them for our $2,493. After realizing this was a scam, we called our credit card company to cancel this transaction. Our creit card co. did an investigation into the matter, and ruled in our favor returning our money. Divine Destinations never returned our many phone calls. We left messages that were never responded to. Now - Mr. John Jureidini, president of Divine Destinations sent us a summons to appear in court, in St.Thomas V.I.
to collect this money. He wants us to pay him $2,643 plus court cost for absoultly nothing in return from him. We ARE SENIOR CITIZENS LIVING ON A FIXED INCOME and can't afford to make this trip to answer this rediculas complaint. Mr. Jureidini wrote us a letter telling us to settled this case with him or he would win this case by default. ANOTHER ONE OF HIS SCAMS!! I wrote the court a notorized and certified letter pleading our case.
Which was schedueled for April 30, 2013 in small claims court located at Barbel Plaza south, St. Thomas V.I. courtroom MG2 at 10 a.m. We have never heard the results of this case yet. But,Mr. Jureidini called us to say he won the case and this would be our last chance to settle with him, before a lean would be placed on us.
