I am not out any money. I am too, received this letter and check for $1,998.00. The red flag for me was the envelope. It is from Madrid. Why would it be coming from there with and VA address on the check. I have learned the hard way over the years of these scams. It is ashame that people who are trying to make an honestly living get screwed over this way. I hope all of you are able to somehow recover your funds. Usually, the bank will refund you if you file a fraud claim with them.
