I made a charge to hotsteamboatdeals.com for items from a local merchant. My credit union alerted me that sites like this are high risk sites for scams and a test charge from a site called T-bird Sanctuaries had been posted to my credit card. The credit union blocked my card and said that if I voluntarily un-blocked my credit card that they had blocked I would be liable for any charges that resulted. I left the credit card blocked and had a new replacement card issued. Beware of the national hot deal sites that act locally, such as hotsteamboatdeals.com but are run nationally and lead to scams.
