Like many others filing complaints against Yellow US Pages, we were contacted by phone with an offer of 2 months free web placement service in January, followed by a $70/mo one year contract. I agreed under two conditions: I wanted the offer in writing and I wanted contact from the company before the contract became effective to assess the value of their service. They recorded the phone call, including a 3rd party verification of the order.

Neither the written offer nor the phone contact materialized. Instead, an invoice was mailed for $840 followed by several high pressure collection calls. The verbal order was played back on the first collection all - omitting my conditions, of course. Any attempt to reason with the representative was met with a loud stream of company policy, lies and threats to run my credit score into the ground. I run an honest business with an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Yellow US Pages has a D rating and 104 complaints in the last year. They gain unwitting customers by deceit and bullying, refuse to put anything in writing, and demand that you hand over your credit card to make it all go away.
