Sedgwick is the insurance company for my public storage unit. My storage unit got flooded through the fault of the public storage company itself. There was almost two inch of water in the unit. After going through all the soaked items in the unit; I filed a claim with Sedgwick. After a bit Sedgwick settle the claim. During the processing of moving out from the old storage unit to a new unit that the storage company provided; I discovered alot of my and my finacee valued items were stolen. The way they got into the storage unit is by cutting the wires on top to gain entrance and exit. I personally think the flood was a cover up for the stolen property. I filed a claim with Sedgwick but the are asking for documentions for the items that is less than a year from time the items was reported stolen. That what is in the policy and their representative stated. A police report was filed. Through conversation with public storage management and the detective, this was not the first time theft was reported from this storage facility. All items that was in storage was a couple of years old. So, how am I to retrive the reciepts? I try to with the credit card company but they can not help me with the receipts. Sedgwick also wants photos. Who take photos of item they bought? Who keeps cash receipts that is a couple of years old? Every items that is on the inventory sheets is more than a year old and older. I lost alot of valuable items that I couldnt claim and I feel that Sedwick is victimizing the victim. I pay my insurance and now is the time for the insurancer to pay the insuree. My lost is a whole more tha what I am claim for. Thank you.
