I am a senior who stupidly believed a phone solicitation from Keyes Hyundai that I would get a new car for about the same payment as my existing lease if I would turn in my Hyundai Genesis early because "there is a great demand for used Genesis sedans". I set up an appointment not with the caller, but with the guy who sold me the least on my then current vehicle. Stupidly, I did not go to TrueCar.com or any of the auto pricing sites. I walked in uninformed and trusting -- a total mistake. My salesperson wasn't there for my appointment, a predatory sales manager named Brian assigned me some kid who obviously was not interested in helping me and a skillful "finance guy" sho managed to help hide all the facts from me. I didn't ask for and wasn't shown the sticker on the vehicle I "traded" my car for -- and wound up taking on $10,000 additional in debt that i did not have to and would not have if a) I had done my homework or b) anyone had been honest about my options and not just been looking to fleece this stupid, uninformed, trusting senior sitting in front of them.
I want to warn seniors NOT to believe Keyes' advertising or solicitations, NOT to trust their sales people and always to bring someone with them who is informed about auto prices and would be suspicious of the predatory behavior of the sales people and management at Keyes Hyundai.
