had my computer info make, model ip address, remoted into my computer and showed me all the infections in my computer. than states to fix it I would have to pay for it. finally disconnected them. I did get their info. phone number is 866-539-8803 this is a scam. I see I am not the only one the contact. they did say to fix it it would cost me money. last guy I spoke with was named Chris and he was a manager, I was to leary so they gave me to him to seal the deal. didn't work!

These people called me last night and I got the same spiel. I, also, was very leery and would not purchase the product. They took control of my computer and now I am worried that they may have done some harm rather than the fixing that they promised to do. Am going to call Microsoft and find out how and why they had all the information about my computer, including my home phone number. This is very scary!

- Would like to add to my comment, for the benefit of anyone else who has encountered this scam. I called Microsoft and they confirmed the scam and went into my computer and took out all kinds of malware, spyware and infections that the scam company had implanted. I am so relieved. But my son also has a computer in his bedroom, on the same IP and now I am afraid that they might have infected his computer also, through my computer. He is getting bad errors so am going to contact Microsoft again today and get his computer fixed. Am glad that Microsoft people understand and will take their time to set all this straight, and not charge me anything, like everyone else wants to do. Be afraid, be very afraid!! And never pay for anything without checking it out and don't let anyone into your computer unless you called them!!
