Downloaded a program from firstload.com to download files (supposedly for free) and found it had changed all the file types for my audio files, inserted viruses into them all and the program was full of viruses as well. Had to restore Widows to get rid of them. They also have a scam where you put your credit card details in and they assure you that no money will be deducted from your bank account. However, the homepage (not the page you join up on) has some fine print that says if you don't cancel your sub in the 2 week trial period, they'll bill you for a subscription automatically. Same scam I got burnt on a few years ago with Ancestry.com. So I cancelled it and hopefully no billing will occur.

Firstly, we provide usenet access and every user is responsible for what he or she downloads there - our software is 100% safe and does not contain any viruses but does not substitute a virus scanner or any other sort of security software.
Secondly, what you call "fine print" is clearly stated during the signup process, as well as in our terms and conditions.
Thirdly, if you cancelled your account in due time, no charges whatsoever will apply, so please refrain from stating that you "got scammed for 50$".
We run a legitimate business which provides an actual service, namely usenet access, and we have thousands of satisfied customers who read and understood our t&c's before signing up.
