Got an email regarding a job for which I had applied; no where in the reponse I received did it state the name of the company officially, and it asked me to complete a financial background check to be "in complience with federal employment act". Red flags galore!!! Below is my response and the original email.

Dear Ms. Renno,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to interview for this position! I am very excited, and am looking forward to the process. However, I would like to learn more about the company before I proceed with providing any financial information. I have no fears in passing an inspection, but I would like to ease my concerns regarding the validity of this company.
I thought I had applied for a "high end, dynamic hospitality" position, but below it indicates a link to "lighting-solutionz", and in the above address from the sender, the company is listed as "rock hard tees". This is giving me some confusion and concern as to what and for whom I will be working, should I get a position. Also, I have never, in my 17 years as an employee, or my 6 years as a manager responsible for hiring, ever had to comply with federal employee regulations requiring a financial check.
In my experience, such checks are conducted after a formal offer of employment has been presented, and is not a federal requirement.
