We have 5 lines with T-Mobile.

By December 2012, all of the lines were out of contract.

We inquired about receiving new customer rates for phones and service. We were offered a discount on the monthly rates and a discount on the new phones if we would agree to renew our contract for 2 more years. The contract consisted of receiving 2 phones immediately and an additional 3 phones (2 more Samsung S III and a 3rd phone that was unspecified as to brand and model at that time) when tax season was over (April or May 2013).

In May of 2013, I called T-Mobile to arrange for the purchase/shipment of the last 3 phones, and to complain about the reduction of our minutes without my permission (originally 3200 minutes down to 2000). T-Mobile offered us an additional 50 minutes per line free of charge. With regards to the phones, T-Mobile informed me that they would no longer honor our agreement and if I wanted new phones I would have to pay full retail. If I wanted to be part of the new pricing structure, I would have to pay fees to do so ($200 to $500 depending on the rep spoken with). Apparently these fees were for changing plans in mid-contract or a premium charge for the phones we'd received or both.
We were informed that they wouldn't let us out of the contract even though they failed to provide 3 of the lines any consideration for the contract extension. In fact, one T-Mobile rep told me that I should consult an attorney and sue them.
I'm at my wits end as to how to proceed. I have 3 phones that are so old, they don't work right. I can't upgrade them without incurring outrageous fees and, apparently, even though T-Mobile has not completed their end of the contract and has no intention of doing so, I'm stuck paying them a monthly fee for a service not being provided for the next 1-1/2 years.
