My wife received a call from Frank Hamilton who said she won 2nd place in an international sweepstake in the amount of $500,000. It would be delivered to her on June 20, 2013. She must have a Govt. issued ID. But they would need a check for $2500 to cover the balance of the Federal Taxes that Chase Hamilton advanced to the government. His number was 661-449-1623 gotten off phone. He gave a call back # of 661-449-1623.
He also gave a Tel. # for the Federal Gaming and Trade Commission ( NO SUCH AGENCY) as 202-629-9892. He advised we call them check out the cl #
I called the Commission supposedly verified the number with him and he said he was just there as a protection for the consumer. He said the amount of the winnings was $500,000.
He verified the Cl #. When I started to ask questions he deferred to just being a civil servant and yes the call was recorded. He supposedly looked up info on the law firm and gave me another # 925-871-1265 for them.
I called that number and asked questions and some guy said this was a law firm. I asked, "What kind of law firm." He said an international law firm." He wanted to know my name, "I said Harry James (not my name)." He said oh you are a 2nd prize winner". After more accusations of fraud by me he hung up. There are no Google listings for Chase Hamilton & Assoc. in the whole USA. This scam is carefully put together and could be very convincing to some poor person who can't go on the internet and find out about it. IT'S A SCAM PEOPLE don't fall for it.
