I had asked Brittany Medrano , owner and stylist?? , if she could perm my hair. she said she knew how, and would be glad to. I showed her pictures of the curl I wanted, and she said she could do it. I told her I would probably need 2 or 3 kits , since I have long hair, and that my hair processes very quickly. She said she understood all of it. When she finished my perm, my hair was horribly frizzy and terribly bushy. I couldn't believe it !! She said it was just because she had used a clarifying shampoo to take the products out of it, so the perm would take well. I was skeptical, but had not had a perm in several years, and thought things may have changed. She said not to wash my hair for 3 days, then I could shampoo and condition it. I did, but it was still horribly bushy. I wanted to cry everytime I looked in the mirror. I called her and went back 4 days later. She claimed the problem was because I was on medication, and that makes hair do strange things. She wet my hair and told me I just needed to put a whole lot of mouse in it, in order to get curl, rather than frizz. I was still extremely upset, and tried to put deep conditioners in it, to no avail. Even my husband was sick that he ever wanted me to get a perm. I couldn't even get a very wide tooth comb through it. I went back to her in April for her to put a keratin treatment on it, and to redo my color. She had always done a pretty good job on my color, and I thought she would try to fix the problem with my hair being so out of control. She didn't.
When it came time for my next color and cut, I found a very experienced stylist. She said my hair was VERY overprocessed, and had been rolled wrong. My ends were straight, while the rest was bushy; almost no real curl. I had to pay $100.00 to get 2 boxes of straightener and a deep conditioning treatment to take all of the so-called perm out. My hair looked like it used to before my perm fiasco. 4 days later, I went back to my new stylist, who put a real keratin treatment on it. She put a thick conditioner on it, then put me under a dryer for 20 minutes. This, evidently, this was a real keratin treatment. Brittany only sprayed something on my hair, and charged me $15.00 for a keratin treatment. No hair dryer.
It is obvious to me, and others, that she has NO IDEA what she is doing. Yet, she deceives clients into believing she does, and takes their money, while ruining their hair. She needs to be out of business.

  • I have been doing Janet's hair for close to a year. She has always loved it and even told my other clients or people she knew how good I was. I agreed to perm her hair and I used a clarifying shampoo to remove all product/buildup and told her that it would feel very dry because of that, but after she shampooed in a couple days it would be better. When I was finished she said she loved it. I charged her $70 and she tipped me $15. A couple days later she called me and said it was frizzy and she was upset with her. I told her to come into the salon and I would take a look at it. I shampooed her hair and used styling product, which did help tame the frizz. I had even asked a fellow stylist who works in my salon what her suggestions would be, since she has been doing hair for over 15 years, and she also suggested a styling product. After putting mousse in she said she loved it again and it was much better, then made an appointment to come back in a few weeks for a color and cut. She came in, I did the color/cut, and she asked for a keratin treatment. The treatment I use is Keratherapy and requires an even spray all over the head as well as a high-heat blowdry to lock it in. I did NOT put any styling products in it this time, because with the treatment you cannot use any or the keratin won't have any effect, so it was a little frizzy from not using any product. After I finished she tipped me and made another appointment to come back. She NEVER asked for her money back, or called after her color to say she was still unhappy with the perm. Had she done this I would have gladly either put a relaxer on it or refunded the $70 that I charged her. The only way I knew she must have been unhappy after the last appointment was when she didn't show up for her next one. I have never over-charged her for any services... I actually charged a very low amount considering how much hair she has. NONE of my clients have ever been unhappy with me or said I ruined their hair.
