I got a call from a woman with a very heavy Indian accent. She wanted to veriify my personal info, stuff like my name, my IP address, etc. Well, when I asked why she even wanted to know, she told me I had a Trojan virus on my computer. She tried to start the process of walking me through something on my computer when I stopped her and demanded to know how her company got my personal information. They said they were a data-mining company working in cooperation with Google. Well, when I figured out this was a scam, I told her, "How do you call me, unsolicited, and ask me all these invasive questions!! And how dare you resort to stealing personal info and cold-calling people! You're scam artists! DO NOT CALL ME AGAIN!"
She hung up, and I hope that's the end of it. Is Google a willing participant in the scam?
