On June 05, my wife, who is hard of hearing and cannot afford to buy hearing aids, saw this Ad on TV about these hearing enhancement devices, selling for $29.95 plus S&H. The ones on TV looked like they were ok. She ordered a pair of them.
A couple of weeks later we received the order. There were two pairs of the devices enclosed, each costing $29.95, total of $59.90, plus an outrageous cost for S&H of $31.80 for a combined total of $91.70.
Upon opening the package and inspecting the product is was discovered that it was made of a very cheap and flimsy plastic. From the very first it was hard to even turn on and when it was finally turned on the volume control did not work on low and after jiggling the volume control to high it was too loud. There was no in-between. The device was very uncomfortable to my wife, it was so cheap and flimsy, it kept falling off. We had to send it back for a refund of only the two cheap sets(in material only) devices. I contacted the MSA30X and was told that the only money that would be refunded was the $59.90, no part of the $31.80 would be refunded, which is a rip-off and that is the only way this company has any hope of making a profit, is by keeping the S&H part of the deal. When I sent the cheap, unworthy devices back, it only cost me about $10.00 total. I believe that this outfit is ripping off senior citizens by false advertising, 2 for the price of 1. plus S&H, and then sending the two sets and charging full price for the two sets at an outrageous price of total $91.70. My wife is 67 years of age and I am 73 and we live on a small SS income. These people are preying on unsuspecting senior citizens who are about 95% of the target group in these advertisements. I feel that we should receive the total amount of $91.70 not to mention our cost to ship this useless item back to these people who prey on the elder citizens of this country. They should be ashamed of themselves. There should be a quality control in place so that this rip-off can be avoided by the consumer. Thank you for your help.
