I met Timothy Sobolewski on a dating site called "Senior People Meet" in May of 2011. We corresponded numerous times by phone and e-mails. He wrote charming and interesting e-mails telling me I was the type of woman that he wanted to know more about and meet in person one day. He was in Malaysia working as a construction engineer to build a shopping mall there. He had his 15 year old grand-daughter by the name of Berlene with him. I had spoken to Berlene several other times and she did sound like a young girl to me. One day she called me crying and begging me to send $9,000.00 for a surgery that she needed from a serious fall that she had sustained. Myself being a grandmother I felt pity and concern for her so I sent the money to Timothy by western union and money gram. After that particular incident Timothy would call me 20 to 25 times in a day harassing me for more money for one excuse after another. When I complained that I needed proof that all my money would be return to me when he arrived back into the states, he had his lawyer, Barrister who has an e-mail address of [email protected] to draw up a legal document to protect me. At that time Timothy said that he would add an interest rate of 30%. Was then that I realized that I was being "SCAMMED" since if something sounds to good to be true it probably is. He is back into his home state of Minnesota now, so I would like to stop him from ever taking advantage of another elderly woman as myself. My advise to all others who are scanning the internet for relationships is to do your homework beforehand and check their backgrounds. I did all of this AFTERWARD which is a little to late for me since Timothy succeeded to more or less take me to the cleaners. I am depressed and humiliated since I thought I was smart enough not to get scammed by anyone. Now from my research about scammers I have found out that most of them uses atrocious grammar and spelling and will not give any information about themselves. They often uses the small"i" instead of the capital I when writing. I unfortunately had to learn a very expensive lesson from this. Let's all unite together and stop these "SCAMMERS".
Hoping that there is someone out there that can help me with this nightmare.
