Volkswagen Salesman Ron enticed us to sign a brand new lease contract and dealership will waive all responsibility on existing lease on a 2010 Jetta, including over mileage and damage to the trunk of the car. We believed him, despite having a remaining 3 month period on the existing lease that we have already paid for, and signed up for a new lease on a 2013 Jetta. 3 months later VW Credit is collecting $2,800 to cover over mileage and damage to the 2010 Jetta. I call the dealership and they are denying such deal. And that they would never promise to pay for the over mileage and the damage to the trunk. They apparently also have a copy of what they call a "wheel slip?" that I signed, which as we were going through the contracts I had to sign for the newly leased car, somehow, pertained to the old lease, technically stating that the dealership is not liable for any excess mileage and damage to the car. I feel this dealership is employing sales tactics to get consumers to believe there is such a thing as a "trade-in" on a lease. But in reality theyve made it all up, and have all scripted it verbally so nothing is in writing. Their way out is the "wheel slip" which they insert in a pile of documents you would have to sign as part of the new lease, so they can very subtly get out of the deal in writing. This is a scam that needs to be investigated. I am appalled with the amount of lies that someone will employ just to get $250 in commission.
