SC Law Group was handling my HAMP request to my mortgage servicing company and I can’t contact anyone there. I have spoken with my mortgage company directly so I could start to make my trial monthly payments. I've made numerous attempts to reach out and left numerous voice mails, none of which were returned. The web site is down so I have to assume for whatever reason that the company has ceased to operate. If I hadn't proactively contacted my mortgage servicing company, I would have been foreclosed on 8/6/2013. Additionally, I was told at the outset that they would not only get my interest rate down to 2% but, would also get a principle reduction. They didn’t tell me that the principle reduction wasn’t available in Texas and my mortgage company would only get my mortgage to 4%. In short, I was lied to. I was expecting full service legal representation for all of the money that I sent to them.
Update: 07/16/2013
Called SC Law Group’s attorney. He indicated that their marketing firm is under investigation by the FTC. He went on to say that I would need to reach out to the receiver, Thomas MacNamara.

- I've started to do some research on sc law group, my girlfriend has given 3500 to these guys for a loan modification,she started on march 28th 2013. Last week she received a letter on her door setting that her home would be put on auction in August. We have called every number we could find for every person we have delt with from sc lawgroup, and can't Get a hold of anyone. After searching the Internet, I have not been able to find a website, Or any way to contact these people and she's freaking out. Help please.

- I reached out to the lead attorney for SC Law Group, Paul Cong Nguyen. He left me a voicemail message and indicated that their marketing firm, "A to Z Marketing" is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission and that SC Law Group is NOT under investigation however, the Federal Court Judge has put an injunction on the company. He went on to say that all of the client files and funds are with Thomas McNamara who is the receiver and that I would need to reach out to him to attempt to obtain a refund. Additionally, he indicated that the web site would be updated with the details as soon as possible.

- I had the same problems when I hired SC Lawgroup back in March for the Mortgage modification of 2% interest through Bank of America and I paid them $3500. We currently pay a whopping 7.75% interest! The paperwork they submit to you specifically states for clients to keep in touch with them, by phone or email, but I could never get a hold of anyone from this law firm, either by phone, voicemail or e-mails, it was like talking to the wall. They only contact you when they need you to send them updates, but never explained what they were metigating, and I also noticed, that I never spoke with the same agent. Other than that..I would get the same response everytime.."you'll get another call within 7-10 business days" which was never timely...and forget trying to contact them. I received two other similar letters in the last couple of months offering the same modification, and I noticed they each had a different law firm to represent you...hmmm, that raised my suspicion. Bank of America had deadlines for documents they required from me..much less waiting for SC Lawgroup.. whom I have not been able to get a hold of for the last 3 wks until I found out about what's going on reading these posts. Thanks gentlemen. Is there anyway I can get a hold of this Thomas McNamara..i.e. phone number or e-mail? Definitely want my refund as well as you.. but most of all, don't want them sitting on my personal information! Thanks and best of luck.
