I signed up for eLove for a 20-date, right of first refusal contract a couple years ago. I was told that i'd have an average of 1 match per month, based on my requirements. I live in downtown chicago. I had a total of 3 matches in 2 years, the people did not meet my match qualifications (which are pretty easy -- male, unmarried, income matching mine, city dwellers, professional, etc), and after not hearing from the company for many many months, got a call from someone from eL saying there was Big News coming soon and she was interested in matching me with some great guys. I was on a biz trip and couldn't talk. I forget She told me that eL had decided to close, and they had "donated" their database to Its Just Lunch to "help out" the members. I'm SVP for a multinational company and i asked when the merger or acquisition had taken place -- again she assured me no money had exchanged hands but that the owners had decided to close the business. If i signed a release and signed up with IJL they would honor the balance of my contract. I told them i would prefer a refund. She stammered a bit, said no-one else had asked for that. Told me she'd get back to me. I have not heard from her, so have been doing a little research. There are a number of eL numbers not working and some that are working -- and the reps say they are actively matching. I'm looking for my money back. It's my choice which company to sign with -- obviously i signed with the wrong one, but frankly IJL has no incentive to provide the "personal" service i was promised from eL given they have not been paid by me. They may have purchased the database for cold calling...not sure, but i intend to get to the bottom of it. Please call -- i am intelligent, plugged into the business community and i've been scammed. (Personal Information Removed). There should be a class action in the making. I'm probably one of the very few people who asked a few probing key questions, and looks like these guys are crumbling under their own lies...
