This guy gets scammed out of $400 on a sod install and posted it on craigslist. So we (The Sod Store) emailed him and felt bad for him so we cut our price in half (YES) in HALF got finished with the job (Due to rain and other issue's it took 2.5 weeks to finish) But when we got done he should up I told him I would meet up with him tomorrow to pick up a check. Two days go by and he still has not called me back or pick up his phone then he texted me and tells me his bank was mailing us a check because he felt it would be faster that was on the July 12th so I wait and I get a text with a picture of a auto bill pay stating the check will be mailed on July 22nd So that was FASTER????? Payment is due on comp. of job not 2 weeks later As of today still no check We cut our price in half for this guy. Got a text from him today stating Frankly I don’t care Today is Aug. 6th If someone help me like that…We helped him I would have CASH waiting on them when they finished he saved over $300.00 in LABOR Just because he got scammed don’t mean you can do it to others. I am the owner of JM Lawn Care and am just seeing this report. Please note that there is only 1 complaint and also note that the individual that filed is no longer in business.
This began when this company emailed me to offer service after I was scammed out of some money for a job I was sub-contracting. Although the product and the price were really good, the service and honesty was extremely poor.
It took over a month to get the company to come out aftger I paid almost $600 for the sod and this was going to one of my clients so I was made to look bad because of this guy. When they finally came out, he wanted me to pay him cash so that he could avoid the taxes and I told him, I need an invoice and I'll pay either by check or credit card. He refused and over a period of time began to threaten legal action. He emailed me ant attorney name/number along with a case number where he filed, but upon investigating, we found out it was a fake case number and he was trying to now strong arm the initial $250+additional "misc fees" that totaled to over $600. I mailed a check which he said he never received and had to cancel and resend. Come to find out, the location is now selling used cars and his business is no longer even there. If you go to www.sodjax.com you can see the site is not even operational. It is true that he did not get paid, but I have written messages from him indicating he would refuse pmt unless it was in cash. I also gathered at least 6 add'l customers he had...all with the same frustrations and some with worse stories. PayPal even had to freeze his account due to the # of complaints. Jeff, get a life and move on! -
