I used the instantcheckmate.com site because my sister recently separated from her husband and we have not heard from her. A quick search of the internet revealed that her husband had been arrested for domestic violence in the past and I wanted to get his criminal history.

I paid for one month unlimited access on the instantcheckmate.com site because that was the cheapest option. The site appeared to be gathering information on my sister's husband but the report I received had random information on various persons with similar names (not even the same name) and NO information at all about my sister's husband's arrest record. They also did not even find his birth date or age! I was able to get much more detailed information about him just doing free searches on the internet.

I should have checked for reviews on instantcheckmate.com on the internet first. I was just a bit panicked and wanted to get some information as quickly as possible. Now that I have researched this site, I realize that instantcheckmate.com is a scam. Sadly, I have learned that a lot of people have been charged far more than they ever signed up for by this company as the charges are submitted to their credit card again and again.

I will report this to my credit card company, as well, but what a waste of time and money.
