Here is a letter I sent back to PDL when they sent a statement to me for a debt of $1280:

Dear Elizabeth Childs, This is in response to your letter dated 8/8/13. I have never heard of PDL Recovery Services or Pack Management Group. I am not validating your debt with me because I have no idea who you are, nor do I know how you even got my name, let alone my mailing address. It then dawned on me that you must be the criminals that got my personal/financial information from a hacking incident at a previous employer in 2009 or another hacking of a previous bank of mine in 2010. As of this date, other than a car loan, I have no outstanding debt with any entity due to a fully discharged Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. I forwarded a copy of this letter to my attorney and after she laughed until she cried she told me that PDL/PMG isn't even a legitimate business!! They have no business license, mailing and office address is a coffee house/UPS store, a phony Magic Jack ph/fax number that advertises for astrology services,(LOL) fraudulent website, where the Elizabeth Childs doesn't even exist. They are listed as scams to beware on the BBB and FTC websites. Anyway, my letter goes on to say that I have forwarded a copy of their letter to law enforcement, BBB, FTC, All 3 credit reporting agencies and of course my attorney. Anyone who has dealt with these yahoos PLEASE sound off on this website and complain via email on BBB and FTC scam websites. WE WILL NOT BE THREATENED BY THESE CRIMINALS!!!!!!
