I joined ChristianMingle.com the end of August and immediate received an message from a very nice looking man. He asked me to email him at his yahoo account and I created my own yahoo and only used it to email him. He said that his wife died 5 years ago in a car wreck, he has a daughter in Sioux Falls, SD who lives with her grandparents because he travels. He's a mechanical engineer and a personal contractor on oil wells. He is American but grew up in Germany and educated in Germany. Has a sister in Germany but never talks to her. Long story short, I believed it was a scam from the beginning and played along with it. He called this morning to say he was flying to the Gulf of Mexico to an oil platform off the coast of Florida. He called me at lunch and said that he forgot to do something could I help him. Sure, I said. He needed me to send $800 to his daughter in South Dakota. Without blinking I said Nope - this is what I've told you about scammers.

If they would just get a real job these could be productive people. I'm praying that God rains all sorts of terror down on his and other scammers heads, much like the plagues of Egypt.

I thought, stupidly, that ChristianMingle would better screen their users but obviously they don't. Use the word "Christian" and they act like all is well. So so sad.
